Of Faith We Play is a collection of 25 duets, all of which have “Faith” in their titles. While these may be new to you, they are timeless with their rich theology. They are suitable for 2nd year or early intermediate trombone/bassoon players. Running eighth notes and some key signatures with multiple sharps or flats make them more challenging than average 2nd year material. They can be used for offertories, special music, or accompaniment for congregational singing. The Flute book, Of Flute and Faith, contains the same selections in the same concert keys as the books in this “Of Faith We Play” series. Instruments can be mixed and matched in order to play duets together. Most of these hymns are in traditional hymnal keys. In a few hymns, the duet part crosses the first, or is written entirely above the first part to allow for a reasonable range.

Give Me the Wings of Faith to Rise, G

Great is Thy Faithfulness, E-flat

Have Faith in God, What Can There Be, F

Holy Spirit, Faithful Guide, G

I Know My Faith is Founded, E-minor

Living by Faith, E-flat

More Faith in Jesus, G

My Faith it is an Oaken Staff, E-flat

My Faith Looks up to Thee, D

O God of Grace Increase My Faith, F

Oh for a Faith That Will Not Shrink, A-flat

Oh God, Thou Faithful God, C

Our Faith is in the Christ Who Walks, B-flat

True-hearted, Whole-hearted, Faithful and Loyal, E-flat

We Walk by Faith and not by Sight, A-flat

In the second half of the book, you will find the lyrics for meditation and further knowledge. All hymns are in the public domain except for Great is Thy Faithfulness, which I have permission to arrange. An MP3 flute demo is available but which does not contain Great Is Thy Faithfulness. Enjoy this journey of faith!
