“Do I leave Him in the manger?” A child loves to think of baby Jesus in the manger, but does he realize that Jesus grew up to do something amazing for him? This song,
written for unison junior choir tells the story of Jesus birth, His purpose, the fact that He died on the cross, and then rose again to bring us life. The third verse asks the listening
audience, “Will you leave Him in the manger?” and then affirms that He grew up just for them.
This download provides the melody with lyrics, along with a separate part for the
accompanist/teacher with melody, lyrics and piano accompaniment. The vocal range is from A below middle C to the B above. The sample music file is sung by my former third and fourth grade students who attended the Christian school where I taught and was
recorded on January 25, 2000 at George Fox University’s Bauman Auditorium.
